I hope that everyone has had a wonderful weekend as I know our J3 group has. We have been able to get out onto the hill early in the mornings both Saturday and on Sunday allowing us to make the most of some moderate surface conditions. While the snow continues to be pushed off to the sides of the trail and into large bumps in the middle, our fun balance testing "boilerplate" surface continues to find its way to the top encouraging athletes to maintain their edges after each foiled attempt to make a turn. Today's activities consisted of some full length runs as the J3 team snaked its way through the crowds in the morning, followed up by some one-ski demonstrations on the bunny hill in the afternoon.
We had a rather chilly morning only to be followed up by a whole bunch of fun in the sun! skiing over on the spruce side of the resort proved to be significantly less stressful as the conditions worsened on the Mansfield side in the afternoon. Much slower speeds combined with general public traveling in significantly more predictable patterns was a blessing in the disguise of a sunny afternoon.
