Back in the East

Hello!

Day 3 in the books for the J3 program back on the East coast, and I have to say it is great to be back! The hill conditions have improved each day we traveled to the Mansfield base lodge. The past two afternoons have provided some bumpy terrain, but we were able to get on some freshly groomed snow this morning allowing athletes to link up some good segments of skiing. While the snow may not be the most desirable of surfaces at the moment, it still provides an important challenge to our athletes- Balance. When the surface is unpredictable as it is now, athletes have to maintain strong body positions so that they are not thrown off-guard when trying to turn on the bullet-proof stuff.

We also worked a little bit with goal setting for both short and long term periods. It was great to be able to see what each of the athletes are striving for this season as it allows coaches to adapt their instruction styles to best suit the athlete.

I have to say, it was pretty exciting to see that people have read the previous blog! Thanks for following our progressions as the MMSC J3 Team!

Adios!

P.S. I'll be adding a daily picture to the posts yet to come.
