Race Day #1

Hey Everyone!

I would like to start out by thanking everyone for such a great day, it was an awesome experience to be able to partake in the running of a race from the opposite end of the spectrum. Everything went rather smoothly today as we left Cochran's with a little bit of Maple Syrup this afternoon. While some of our J3's may not have been thrilled with their personal results today, there is no reason to be disappointed! It was our first time out there competing with some of the other Northern VT teams and the terrain was not exactly forgiving- just wait for a slightly more challenging slope for us to display our athleticism. I personally know that the MMSC J3 coaching staff left the mountain very proud of the skiing we had seen from our athletes.

Please excuse our slight lack of recent reading on the blog here, I had intended to create a post the past couple of nights, but being on dorm parent duty and tending to some personal opportunities kept me from developing an updated post. This past week we focused on preparing for our race today at Cochran's by setting and running courses on relatively flat trails and fine tuning our edging skills.

In the week to come, we will prepare for our GS race at Burke on Mon. January 16th with a little GS training- hopefully on Main Street. It was great to see everyone this weekend, including parents! We are officially into our season now, and I cant wait for next Monday. I got a good feeling about this week, it is GS time, here we go!

Until next time!
